Who we are and what is our mission

The People’s Plan for Economic Inclusion will uplift the conditions, values, vision, and priorities needed to model a human-centered economy. This plan and the strategies used to develop it will address the lack of economic mobility of low-income communities through the lens of labor, housing, education, environmental justice, economic development, arts/culture, and healthcare.

Areas of Focus

Organizations

Support the collaborative organizations as they engage 5,000 residents and youth to learn more about current regional efforts to address economic inclusion and mobility; educate 500 residents of San Bernardino to be engaged advocates for the People’s Plan process and for inclusive economic development in the city.

Capacity & Technical Opportunities

Deepen nonprofit capacity to pursue economic development ventures through capacity-building and technical assistance opportunities.

Reach and include 10,000 residents through civic engagement programs, outreach, and multimedia campaigns to amplify the development of the People’s Plan.

Creating a Human-Centered Economy 

Increased capacity of Just SB partners to lead economic planning efforts that generate quality jobs.

Creation of the People’s Plan, a strategic plan to improve economic conditions for Black and Brown residents suffering from low-paying jobs with no opportunity for advancement.

Implementation

Conduct at least two systems change priorities and collective organizing strategies to engage systems leaders that affect the city of San Bernardino as part of the implementation of the People’s Plan.
